Last week my daughter turned F O U R !!! I've been wanting to throw her a tea party for over a year now and haven't gotten around to it ... Maybe this Spring???
Since her Nana was coming into town on her birthday I thought it was the perfect time to surprise her with a 'princess' tea party for three. Kylie, me and Nana. She was surprised and very excited!
The day before our tea, I went to a local thrift store and was so happy to find a vintage looking set of tea cups and a few saucers that matched. Yay!
I moved my daughter's retro play kitchen out to the fireplace and used it to stage all my cups, saucers, snacks and princess attire. Of course, LOTS of pink balloons were in order as well.
I made some pink heart shaped sugar cubes for the occasion.
Have you ever baked a cupcake in a tea cup? This was my first time and I have to admit I was nervous! Fortunately, we made it out of the oven with no explosions or cracks. Just a little cake batter running down one side - easy fix. Phew!!!
She even sips tea like a princess, doesn't she!?! Ha!
This mini tea party just wet my appetite.
Now I need to plan a tea party for she and all her girlfriends! xoxo
I've been itching to get rid of all the random cups we have in the cupboard and convert our drink ware to canning jars.
I didn't go all fancy with Ball mason jars. I went with whatever brand the grocery store carried, which was Kerr. But the fun thing about that is my father-in-law used to work for that company years ago!
Our lips are now happy sipping from canning jars. And our wallets are pretty happy too. A 12 pack of canning jars was $12. That's a buck per cup - not too shabby!
Hi! I'm Cristina. I have two of the sweetest kids in the world - Kylie and Hunter, and a wonderful husband, Brian. My days are spent crafting, playing, dreaming and giving lots of hugs & kisses. I hope you enjoy this little glimpse into my everyday. I'm glad you stopped by!
